South Park: The Fractured but Whole, the highly-anticipated sequel to 2014’s South Park: The Stick of Truth,  has had its release delayed until early 2017, it has been announced by the title’s developer Ubisoft.

In a brief statement on Ubiblog, it was announced that the title will now launch in the first quarter of the new year.

“The development team wants to make sure the game experience meets the high expectations of fans” they added, “and the additional time will help them achieve this goal”.

The title had previously been scheduled for release on December 6th of this year.

The highly-acclaimed cartoon recently returned to Comedy Central with Member Berries, the opening episode of its 20th season.
